Hello! My name is Heidi, and I am so excited to be your birth doula! I was first introduced to the idea of being a doula when I researched doulas after (yes, not before) the birth of my son, Damian. The hospital birth experience that I had was something that I never wanted another woman to go through, and I was passionate about finding a way that I could help empower others to have a positive birth experience.

Soon afterwards, one of my best friends had hired a doula for the birth of her baby, and I was able to see firsthand the difference the support of a doula made. I was so amazed in fact, that the very next day, I decided to attend the International Doula Institute to receive my certification as a Certified Birth Doula!

Before I received my certification, I went to school at Whitworth University and graduated with a B.A. in Spanish Language and Teaching English as a Second Language. Because of my background in Spanish Language, I love that I am able to reach clients who can speak both English and Spanish, so I can support and be an advocate for them in their native language.

My husband and I met in Warsaw, Indiana during high school (he is my high school sweetheart) and we have two children, Damian & Nora. We have recently moved back to the area & have actually started our own homestead! We currently have three Nigerian Dwarf goats (two are pregnant!), fourteen ducks, three dogs, & two kittens. In my free time I enjoy learning about how to use holistic and natural products, and so far, my favorite things that I have learned to make are homemade essential oil roller blends, soaps, and salves! Besides being a mom, I enjoy reading, taking care of my plants, or going on a hike with our dogs. I can’t wait to meet you!
